Music Inside | An Original Song from Seasider Stories

“Music Inside” is a song I wrote and created the cover art for. This was apart of a project series called “Seasider Stories” for Brigham Young University - Hawaii. I wrote the music and lyrics for Music Inside. This helped tremendously for being able to control the sound of the project and a song for Nalani’s voice to flourish on.

The song is about taking the uncharted path of music. How magical, brave and strong that choice is. I wanted to evoke that in the cover art by choosing this setting — Nalani at the piano in the middle of an amazing music moment. I wanted a visual where she was facing away from the camera and toward a darker area of the composition to represent her facing towards the unknown. I added in some lens flare bokeh in the top left corner for a golden magic touch — representing how enchanting music is. I also chose a san-serif font for the title to keep up the energy modern of the song. A serif font would have felt too serious and I still wanted this to feel fun and playful.
