Welcome to my creativity brain

Hello there!

Welcome to my blog section. Here is where I’ll add some behind the scenes information about the projects I create. Something I love about creating projects are the stories and memories associated with them. So that’s what this will be! I journal most nights before I go to bed and find it really essential to my mental health routine. It is so balancing and I hope reading my blog will inspire you to record your thoughts and memories on your own sheets of paper.

I also wanted to take a moment to talk a little bit more about myself and why I create the things that I do.

Ever since I was a kid, I have gravitated towards creative things. I grew up singing, dancing and acting all throughout my childhood. I remember my friends were in a children’s choir together. Afterwards, we would hang out after and make funny commercials and music videos in our rooms. For years throughout high school, I designed and deleted so many different blogs and YouTube channels. My mom and I would watch director’s commentaries after the movie was over and she was always writing stories and creating art in our home. My dad was drummer and raised me on all the musical classics. Creativity was a large part of my home growing up and something that was inside of me and wanted to be set free to find my own recipe of creativity.

For a while, the ultimate dream was to be the triple threat: singer, dancer, actor. As I got older and moved towards college, I realized there was something in me that wanted to create more with performing. I wanted to understand the entire process of creating art and performing it. Once I stepped behind the camera, something clicked in me. I just understood how it worked so innately. It is something that can combine all the different facets of creativity that mean so much to me.

My favorite thing about creating is channeling my emotions into what I create. It’s not something that video will be about, but maybe an intense emotion I was feeling earlier that day and wanted to release. I’ll turn those emotions into colors, songs, edits — any kind of tiny reality to escape to. I think that is something that I still hold onto from performing — channeling energy. When you step onto a stage, it is nerve wracking. It always. Every. Single. Time. What can change is how you choose to engage with that feeling and what you do with it. I find it so thrilling to take a scary emotion like nervousness and use it to my advantage. That’s something I like to take into my visual creations too.

If I am feeling hurt about something that day, I’ll use that to inspire the visuals I create for a brand that still holds the integrity of the brand. It’s kind of complex, but it’s such a great feeling. Creativity for me is about channeling my intense emotions into something productive and positive and inspiring others to choose joy. To me, joy isn’t about being happy all the time, but choosing positivity regardless of what life is serving you.

Thanks for reading! I’m excited to share more thoughts with you.
